Have you observed any emerging trends in AI or image recognition that you believe will significantly impact businesses by 2025?

I closely follow AI developments to stay informed about industry trends. While I’m still new to the company and not deeply technical in image recognition yet, I recognize that Ailet is at the forefront of this technology. 

I believe AI will revolutionize operational processes across industries—not just in image recognition but also in streamlining workflows and improving efficiency. In markets like South America and Brazil, there’s significant growth potential, especially in retail and trade marketing. These sectors are ripe for innovation, and I’m excited to see how AI will transform them. 

How has your experience across different industries shaped your approach to analyzing data and managing SaaS projects?

I’ve worked at seven different companies, each offering unique experiences. The common thread in my approach is a focus on process improvement and cost efficiency. Whether improving client outcomes or optimizing internal workflows, I always seek ways to deliver quality service. 

Communication is key in managing SaaS projects. I hold weekly check-ins with clients and collaborate closely with Customer Success Managers (CSMs) to understand their perspectives and ensure we deliver results effectively. This collaborative approach helps align our goals with client expectations. 

What skills do you think are fundamental for handling day-to-day challenges in your role?

Three skills stand out as essential: 1) Writing: Clear communication is critical, especially when working across time zones, 2) Problem-solving: A rational mindset helps me dive deep into issues, identify root causes, and find solutions, and 3) Active listening: Understanding the client’s needs during meetings is paramount. These soft skills, combined with technical expertise, enable me to navigate complex situations effectively. 

What challenges have you faced in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of image recognition models, especially with diverse datasets?

The key challenge is prioritizing tasks and focusing on the right categories for improved efficiency. Regular validation of data quality is crucial. We need to ensure the photos meet the required standards and that we have enough data to train neural networks effectively. Listening to client feedback in meetings and aligning with team goals are also vital. Ensuring accurate model performance across different industries is a collaborative effort. 

What do you think is most important for successfully implementing image recognition technology across various industries? 

Client feedback is the ultimate measure of success. If clients are satisfied with the accuracy and impact of our solutions, it doesn’t matter what industry they’re in—you’ve solved their problem. Metrics like accuracy percentages, SLAs, NPS and others are critical, but the real win is knowing we’re making a tangible difference and keeping the client happy.

How does it feel to be a newcomer in an international company like Ailet? Have you faced any cultural challenges, and how did you overcome them?

I enjoy working in multicultural environments as they offer valuable learning opportunities. At Ailet, most colleagues are from different countries, which initially posed communication challenges, but the experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Everyone is respectful, making collaboration seamless, and I never let cultural differences hinder my work. 

What truly stands out is Ailet’s strong sense of teamwork. From day one, I felt welcomed and supported, making adaptation easy. The onboarding process was also well-structured, providing clear tasks, resources, and guidance. My colleagues were always helpful, ensuring I had everything needed to understand my role and thrive. 

How do you maintain a healthy work-life balance, and how does Ailet’s culture support this?

I stick to non-negotiable habits, like sleeping from 11 PM to 7 AM, working out before or after work (gym, running, cycling, or soccer), and planning my day by tracking accomplishments and tasks. These routines keep me organized and focused. Ailet’s culture supports this balance, giving me the freedom to manage tasks independently while ensuring I meet goals and expectations. 

I also dedicate time to personal activities, like spending an hour outdoors daily, which is essential for my well-being. Passionate about sports since childhood, staying active remains a top priority for me. 

Can you briefly share your background and career journey? 

I started my career at a national bank in Brazil. Then, in 2017, I joined ExxonMobil, a multicultural company. Later, seeking new challenges, I transitioned to a consultancy role, working on improving commercial processes. Later, I joined an early-stage startup as an operational leader, managing its supply chain operations. During the pandemic, I pivoted to SaaS implementation, which deepened my expertise in process optimization. I also pursued a master’s degree and began learning front-end development, which opened doors to roles in IT analysis and continuous improvement. This diverse background has shaped my ability to adapt and thrive in dynamic environments. 

Tell us more about your interview experience with Ailet. Also, if you have any advice on how to successfully self-present during the interviews, go ahead and share it with our future employees? 

My interview experience was excellent; the recruitment team's transparency and communication fostered my enthusiasm. Engaging and relevant tasks, particularly for the implementation role, solidified my interest.
